With record setting rainfalls over the weekend, the Cumberland River has risen 52.5 ft.  Interstates were closed and thousands of people were forced from their homes.  On the west side of Nashville, flood waters from the Harpeth River submerged hundreds of homes in the Bellevue suburb. Bellevue was one of the hardest hit areas. This is where Chris & Melissa live.

With many people displaced from their homes and pouring into shelters, Melissa was fortunate to be able to take refuge at a neighbors' house with her doggie and kitty.  They are all without power.  Fortunately one of the neighbors has a generator.  They are all surviving together, still unable to even leave their neighborhood.

Like many people in TN, Chris & Melissa did not have flood insurance.  Both of their vehicles are trapped in the garage.  Until the waters recede, they will have no idea how extensive the damage is.

Chris & Melissa are in the process of adopting 2 little girls from India, who are to arrive this summer.  Melissa is so thankful the girls are not here to experience this tragic event.
